Welcome To My Blog
My name is Nora Devai and I am a professional photographer living on the NSW South Coast, Jervis Bay area. I specialize in editorial, commercial and wedding photography but will do portraits also by request. For weddings I cover the coastal areas of the Shoalhaven and Illawara from Shellharbour to Bateman's Bay and parts of the Southern Highlands including Kangaroo Valley. I will travel to other locations on request especially Sydney as I have family there.I started my career in photography as a cadet photographer for the Courier Newspaper group in Sydney, where I worked for 10 years as a photojournalist. What started out as a favour for a friend also led me into photographing weddings on the side.
After the birth of my first child in 2004 I chose to continue working part time as a photojournalist and started to branch out doing freelance work for magazines and other newspapers, meanwhile continuing to also photograph weddings. In 2006 I had my second child and took some time out to enjoy motherhood.
Early 2007 my husband and I decided to pursue our dreams of living by the sea and relocated from Sydney to the south coast. A short time after moving, I was fortunate enough to land a casual photography position with the South Coast Register newspaper and regular freelance work for the Sun and Sydney Morning Herald.
I was also fortunate enough to be approved by the Tourism of Jervis Bay to be featured on their weddings by the beach website as one of their wedding photographers. This is one of the most beautiful places on Earth and it is no wonder that so many couples choose to get married here.
Well I could go on and tell you my whole life story....but maybe next time.
