south coast wedding photographers

About Me

Hi I’m Nora.  I am a full time photographer and I’ve been photographing weddings and families on the NSW South Coast for over 10 years. I live in the beautiful Jervis Bay area with my husband, two children.

My Experience

I fell in love with photography in high school. I was lucky enough to be given a cadetship at a Sydney Newspaper where I learned all aspects of photography and went on to become a Photojournalist. After the birth of my second child my husband I longed to escape the city so packed our bags and moved to the beautiful NSW South Coast.  Since living here I have shifted my main focus to photographing weddings and families and I have never been happier. Since then I have photographed hundreds of weddings so I am very experienced at capturing all your precious moments and understand there is so much more to photographing weddings than just taking pretty photos.

My Shooting Style

Natural, relaxed and fun! My background in photojournalism has given me the skills to capture your wedding day in a candid, unobtrusive and documentary style.  I aim for my photographs to evoke emotion so each time you view them you relive the moments of the day. During my career I have photographed everything from glamorous celebrities to little old ladies. This has given me the experience to adapt to my subjects resulting in natural looking photographs that truly reflect your personalities. I am happy to give direction where needed, however I believe that there is nothing worse than pushy photographers putting you in uncomfortable poses that create awkward and meaningless images. Instead I think photography is a way of telling stories. It would be my privilege to tell yours.

My Editing Style

I like to keep my photos looking very natural. Having learned to shoot on film I really love the tone and colours that film produce, so I have developed editing  presets to emulate the look of film.  I’ve seen many photography fads come and go.  Just think sepia, selective colour, heavy dark vignetting and cross processing (over saturated high contrast) and now the current trend of dark unsaturated photos.  Fads come and go, but natural looking photographs are timeless and they also look beautiful in print not just in digital form.  I want you to love your photos for many generations.

Why You Should Book Me

1: I am local to the Shoalhaven South Coast region.  I have local knowledge of the area and know some amazing locations for your photos. It’s more than likely I have shot at your wedding venue so I am familiar with it. I can also recommend wet weather options if needed.  Being local also means no travel fees for you and no stress that I may not be able to make it due to travel restrictions or road closures etc.   I also have a large network of local wedding vendors and happy to recommend others I usually work with.

2: My prices are very reasonable. For the amount of experience I have and the quality of work I produce, I could easily double my rate.  I choose not to because I do not wish to alienate my ideal clientele and miss out on the types of weddings I really love to photograph.  For me it’s about doing what I love and working with people I connect with.

3:  This is my full time career.  I have been a photographer all my adult life.  It is the only profession I have ever had.  I’m not a fly bye weekend warrior doing photography for extra cash.  I give 100% focus to all my clients.
