SOUTH COAST WEDDING, ELOPEMENT & FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER
My Experience
I fell in love with photography in high school. I was lucky enough to be given a traineeship at a Sydney Newspaper where I learned all aspects of photography and went on to become a Photojournalist. After the birth of my second child my husband I longed to escape the city so packed our bags and moved to the beautiful NSW South Coast. Since living here I have shifted my main focus to photographing weddings and families and I have never been happier. Since then I have photographed hundreds of weddings so I am very experienced at capturing all your precious moments and understand there is so much more to photographing weddings than just taking pretty photos.
My Shooting Style
Natural, relaxed and fun — with minimal awkwardness.
With a background in photojournalism, I capture your day as it actually happens — candid, unobtrusive, and full of real moments. I work quickly and efficiently so you can spend less time posing and more time enjoying your wedding (as it should be).
My goal is to create photos that feel something — the kind you look back on and instantly relive the moment (happy tears and all).
Over the years I’ve photographed everyone from glamorous celebrities to little old ladies, which basically means I can read a room pretty well. I know when to step in and give a bit of direction, and when to quietly disappear and let the magic unfold.
Not everyone feels like a supermodel in front of a camera — and that’s completely normal. I’m great at helping you feel comfortable (mostly through very bad jokes 😂 ), so nothing feels stiff or forced. Because honestly? There’s nothing worse than being twisted into weird poses that don’t feel like you and ending up with photos that look… well… awkward.
I won’t make you do anything that isn’t you. No cringey prompts, no strange instructions like whispering animal noises into your partner’s ear… unless you’re into that 😂 (and yes this a thing some photographers do!) — just real moments, genuine connection, and a story that’s uniquely yours.
Because at the end of the day, wedding photography isn’t about poses and a long drawn out photo shoot — it’s about storytelling. And it would be an absolute privilege to tell yours.
My Editing Style
I like to keep my photos looking very natural. Having learned to shoot on film I really love the tone and colours that film produce, so I have developed editing presets to emulate the look of film. I’ve seen many photography fads come and go. Just think sepia, selective colour, heavy dark vignetting and cross processing (over saturated high contrast) and now the current trend of dark unsaturated photos. Fads come and go, but natural looking photographs are timeless and they also look beautiful in print not just in digital form. I want you to love your photos for many generations.
